Functional Neurology

The brain and nervous system are full of wonder. There is still so much to learn about all that the brain is capable of. Functional neurology helps us to interpret what your brain is able to manage, and what it is having a hard time controlling. Everything that we do in life has an impact on the brain, and the brain has control over everything that we do.

Functional Endocrinology

Just like blood chemistry, an evaluation of hormones for function can be a very powerful tool. Hormone function usually follows proper blood chemistry. The volatility of human endocrine function is the paramount feature of the system. It takes so very little hormone to create a vast change in the system. Knowing when and where to support these systems is the key to developing the treatment plan that will best serve each patient.

a few blood samples

Functional Blood Chemistry

There really is no more efficient tool for disease prevention than a comprehensive blood test. The goal is to identify developing medical problems and prevent them from manifesting into a serious medical condition. It will also establish a baseline that can be used to track a person’s health over time. When all of the blood chemistry markers are looked at as a whole, it provides a much more complete picture as to how healthy or ill the patient truly is.

Nutrition

What we do and do not eat has major consequences on our health. This is because our nervous and endocrine system rely on nutrients derived from our food to function properly. Additionally, the food we eat has vast potential to cause an inflammatory response making us feel sick, tired, or below our peak capacity. We consider nutrition on an individual basis and make recommendations specific to each individuals needs. We often discuss nutrition at our monthly education meeting.

Cold Laser Therapy/RLT

Light therapies have long been used when treating neurologic conditions. Cold laser has been shown to have many healing properties. Many of those properties we have yet to study. As an adjunct to other therapies, Cold Laser and Red Light Therapy treatments offer an anti-inflammatory, healing, and non-invasive option.

Somatosensory Evoked Potential (SSEP)

SSEP, also referred to as Repetitive Peripheral Somatosensory Stimulation (RPSS), is utilized in our office as a therapy treatment to stimulate specific parts of your nervous system that are not firing adequately. By doing so, the stimulation will help restore proper function of your nervous system, which translates to improved function of your brain and body.

a chiropractor puts kinesthetic tape on his patient's knee

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping is a therapeutic taping technique. Not only does this offer the patient or athlete the support they are looking for, but rehabilitates the affected area as well. This technique uses a highly specific designed tape that works with the body allowing full range of motion (ROM). This technique will not adversely affect the bio mechanics of the patient.
This latex-free product is hypoallergenic and safe to use on all patients. No compression to the skin makes it “light to the feel” allowing comfortable wear over a 3 to 5 day period. The water resistant fabric whisks away moisture and gives the patient the ability to bathe as normal. Kinesio Taping works with the lymphatic system to increase the circulation of blood and lymph in order to rehabilitate and relieve pain.

neuro emotional technique in Grants Pass, OR

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a psychotherapeutic / chiropractic system that combines a number of techniques and principles from traditional Chinese medicine, chiropractic and applied kinesiology. It is a holistic approach to well-being focusing on imbalances in the structure of the skeletomuscular system, unresolved “negative emotional blocks”, toxins in the body, and deficiencies in nutrition.
The Neuro Emotional Technique stress-response testing can find negatively charged stressful responses that are stored in your body and help you release them. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it can dramatically improve your health. Finding “trapped” or conditioned memory loops helps determine if your body is holding stress that is associated with a present-day or past event in your life.

Adjustment Style

Gentle adjusting with Applied Kinesiology, the VibraCussor®, and the ArthroStim® provide proper alignment without the manual “snap and crack” adjustment approach. Applied Kinesiology uses manual muscle-strength testing for medical diagnosis and a subsequent determination of prescribed therapy.
Dr. Chambers uses Applied Kinesiology to test for weakness in muscle groups and misalignment in the skeletal system. The VibraCussor® treatment is for muscle and ligament problems and delivers waves of percussive impulses deep into the tissues of the body. The VibraCussor® compression waves promote an increase in circulation and lymphatic flow and a decrease in muscle spasm.
The Arthrostim® is an adjusting instrument that provides a unique and specific alignment. It delivers 12-14 incremental thrusts per second. By dividing the energy of a single thrust into rapid successive input, the Arthrostim® modulates force and allows an extremely comfortable, highly effective adjustment. It’s like having 27 little tiny adjustments instead of one big one. Benefits of chiropractic adjusting instruments include a more specific and targeted force application, controlled force and speed. These benefits culminate in easier adjustments on patients and the doctor too.

Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy is a form of alternative medicine treatment that increases the amount of oxygen to the body through the introduction of ozone into the body and activates the immune system to fight infectious diseases. We offer several applications of ozone administered from a medical grade ozone generator.
Auricular (Ear) insufflation treats allergies, mold and yeast infections, sore throats, swollen glands, brain fog and sinus infections by passing ozone through the tympanic membrane.
Vaginal insufflation is used for any vaginal, uterine, ovarian or lower abdominal problem, including pelvic inflammatory diseases, fibroids, etc. The ozone will enter the lymph system from vaginal insufflation, as well as the blood stream.
Rectal insufflation is used to obtain higher oxygen levels in the gut and liver. Therefore, it has especially higher benefits for patients with gut and liver issues such as intestinal diseases, chronic hepatitis, and chronic colitis.

For problems involving the skin, such as burns, ulcers, slow-healing wounds, radiation damage, and fungal infections, there are two methods employed depending upon the area involved. For small localized areas, skin cupping is performed. Skin cupping involves placing a 4-inch small glass cup over the area to be treated and pumping ozone gas through the cup. If a limb is involved, a limb bag can be utilized. This is an airtight bag which is placed over the arm or leg. The air is removed, and ozone gas is pumped into the bag.

Interesting facts about ozone:● Ozone absorbs UVB radiation.● Ozone was first used in a health care setting to disinfect operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments.
